What drives Halifax prices
Halifax is the largest city in Atlantic Canada and runs a major container and auto port. It has had no local refinery since the Dartmouth plant closed, so its fuel is imported. Imported fuel keeps prices high. That is the position, and it holds steady. The port moves containers and cars, but the city has no plant making diesel of its own. The price at the pump carries the cost of bringing fuel in from elsewhere, and that cost does not go away.
